Shop and repair bays in North Florida: what to know

A repair bay closes off one end of the equipment barn so you can work on a machine out of the weather and lock the tools up afterward. It usually gets a full concrete floor, an overhead door wide enough for the largest tractor, a walk door, and lighting bright enough to see under a hood. Plan the electrical early: a welder, an air compressor and the shop lights each want their own circuit. Some owners insulate just this bay so it stays workable through a Florida summer.
